About Us
1st Finchfield Scout Group
As a member of the National Scout Association, the Group’s aims are to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.
The method of achieving this is by providing an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training, based on the Scout Promise and Law and guided by adult leadership.
We aim to see the young people in our Group develop self-reliance, self-confidence, initiative, resourcefulness, moral character, team working and courage…. While having fun.
Scout Group
The Scout Group is run from our own Scout Hut and provides both an indoor and outdoor area for the young people to meet and develop their skills. This allows us to provide session during the week for all three sections (Beavers, Cubs and Scouts).
Having our own facilities means we can also provide ad-hoc sessions during the week or over the weekend for special events or fundraising.
Located off Langley Road, Merry Hill, Wolverhampton, we can provide scouting to a well established local community and beyond.
Volunteer Leaders
There is an ongoing effort to recruit enthusiastic volunteers to strengthen the existing 1st Finchfield Scout Group leadership team. This will allow us to provide a wide range of interesting, exciting and educational activities and outdoor adventures that benefit the young people in the Group.
We would like to invite people to come forward to help us. We need willing and versatile leaders. We’re just looking for a couple of hours a week and full training will be given. Why not come down and find out more about who we are?
Fundraising & Special Committee
The Group also needs volunteers to help organise and run the various fundraising activities for the group.
We’re always looking for a few hours help from someone to help with something; be that helping the leaders on an evening activity in the scout hut, attending the Executive Committee meeting as a parent helper, helping in the kitchen during a seasonal or fundraising event or helping on a DIY day around the hut. They are always great fun and fit around any time you can give.
